Greenpeace is throwing its weight behind Kiwi kids striking from school.
Thousands of Aussie children walked out in November as part of an international movement: School Strike for Climate Action.
Since then, kids from the United States to Japan have joined them.
A date has now been set for Kiwis with kids as young as eight years old to walk out of school on March 15th.
Greenpeace Climate Campaigner Amanda Larsson says it’s fantastic this movement has reached New Zealand.
“The future of these children will be defined by the Government’s actions now. I think this is really brave and inspiring from the kids. Why should kids be made to study for a future when nobody is doing enough to protect the future for them.”
